Police have seized a haul of methamphetamine worth up to $4 million after raiding a house in rural Rodney, north Auckland.
Waitemata field crime manager Detective Inspector Hayden Mander said following a month-long investigation police raided an address in Kaukapakapa and arrested a 48-year-old man.
About three to four kilograms of the drug was found at the address, along with $20,000 cash, materials, equipment and chemicals.
Included in the seizure was more than one kilogram of crystalised methamphetamine found in a glass pot.
Equipment used in the manufacturing process that contained unfinished liquid methamphetamine was also found.
The man has been charged with two counts of manufacturing, one of possession of equipment and precursor materials with intent to manufacture and one of possession for supply.
Mander said the community would be reassured that a substantial amount of the drug was off the streets.
“The devastating effects of methamphetamine are wide-reaching, which is why we continue to target methamphetamine manufacturers and dealers as a priority,”
